Inclusion by Design: Building
a Digitally Equal World
Project Overview
In 2024, I led the Nexus Inclusion project from both a UI and brand standpoint, guiding the development of a cohesive brand identity and intuitive user interface that embodied their mission: making the internet more accessible for people with disabilities. Working alongside in-house UX designers and developers, I ensured that the digital experience was barrier-free and welcoming to users of all abilities.
Nexus Inclusion offers an AI-powered accessibility solution that evaluates digital content for accessibility issues, providing real-time insights and actionable guidance. Their software enables businesses to improve websites, apps, and online products to meet accessibility standards, creating more inclusive digital experiences that truly serve people with disabilities.
The Website
I designed the brochure website for Nexus Inclusion to highlight their unique accessibility tools and new brand identity. Using bright, friendly colours and clear visuals, the site feels welcoming and easy to understand. We incorporated animation to add movement and bring the experience to life, while ensuring the site is fully accessible and meets WCAG AA standards. The focus is on showing how their solution helps businesses create more inclusive digital experiences by guiding users to fix issues, not just pointing them out. Overall, the design is approachable, educational, and reflects the company’s mission of true inclusion.
The Product
I designed the user interface for Nexus Inclusion’s core product, including the login screens, account onboarding, complex dashboard, and user flows. The challenge was to make a powerful AI-driven tool feel simple, intuitive, and accessible for a wide range of users. This included the tool’s automatic scanner, which audits websites for accessibility issues and provides clear guidance on how to fix them. The UI balances functionality with an approachable, clean design that supports users every step of the way.
Storyboard
I created the storyboard for an animation that clearly explains Nexus Inclusion’s AI accessibility tool. It breaks down complex ideas into simple visuals, making the product easy to understand and approachable, in line with the brand’s friendly tone.
The Brand
This logo design embraces a colourful, friendly, and approachable aesthetic through a clean, graphical style that prioritises accessibility and universality. Inspired by the concept of a toggle, it symbolises an enabler for a more digitally inclusive world. The building blocks represent the company’s services, tools, and training programs, emphasising a solution-oriented and educational approach. With its vibrant yet clean colour usage, the logo conveys warmth and clarity, making it welcoming to diverse audiences and adaptable across various applications.
